              How Can I Help?

Have you had contact with a state agency and found one of its rules to be outdated, frustrating or inefficient? Did it defy common sense? If so, we want to hear from you.

"I am calling on the people of this state who come into contact with state government to talk to me," Gov. Perdue says. "Tell me what isn't working for you when you go to a state agency for a permit, or a license, or any other project that falls under state regulation."

Governor Bev Perdue

EDC Board Visits
Rutherford Regional Health System

Members of the EDC Board and several staff members recently toured Rutherford Regional Health System as part of their May Board meeting.  David Bixler, hospital CEO and EDC Board member, led the group on a tour of the X-Ray & Imaging Dept., The Birth Place and the 4th Floor Surgical Unit. He also spoke about the recent name change which reflects a contemporary, comprehensive medical system that now offers a full spectrum of healthcare offerings which include family practices, surgical practices, psychiatric care, home care, rehabilitation services, ultra modern imaging capabilities, emergency care, an accredited cancer program and much, much more. Future plans for the facility will include updating the interior decor of the hospital.  Mr. Bixler stressed that the goal is to "compassionately improve the health and well being of the patients."

Founded in 1906 by Drs. Henry Norris and Montgomery H. Biggs, the not-for-profit center is governed by a local Board of Trustees and is licensed for 143 private acute care beds.  Rutherford Regional Medical Center was recently named one of America's Top 20 Community Hospitals as well as being named one of the Top 100 National Hospitals four times in recent years.
Something we can all be proud of!
